Assignment: Illustrate an entire album. The Features is the band, the album is Some Kind of Salvation. The story behind the work is that the circus monkeys are tired of being told what to do and that they all look alike. They rebel against the circus master, kill him, and take over the circus. Gaining their own identities as a result.
I was inspired by the band's use of lots of brass instruments and big vocals. The album, to me, has a vintage sound. The lyrics make multiple references to the danger of everyone being the same, and that we are a "Genetically Modified" society, thus inspiring the monkey takeover theme.
